    Returns
    • We want you to be completely happy with every purchase. If you are not satisfied, you have 7 days from receiving your order to return your purchase. The item must be sent back in its original condition (unworn, unwashed, unaltered) in the original packaging with all tags and labels attached.

    • Free shipping label provided for all returns on US orders. A $10 restocking fee will be deducted for both US and international returns. For returns originating from outside the US, customers are responsible for covering shipping and any applicable customs fees.

The INSCRIPTION print is inspired by different variations of the characters for mountain (shan) and water (shui) depicted in ancient Chinese script.

One of the earliest Chinese scripts that have been unearthed are inscriptions found on bronze artifacts, these characters started out as highly pictorial depictions, gradually diverging in style depending on region and time period.

The colors of the print are inspired by landscape elements from Dunhuang murals located on the ancient Silk Road, which stretched from the Mediterranean sea to China. These murals were painted mainly with blue, green, and red pigments, which were made from grounding precious gemstones and minerals (such as lapis lazuli, malachite, and ochre) into powder.

THE LOGO PRINT

The LOGO print features the SHUMINGYU logo, which is inspired by the concept of yin and yang from The Book of Changes, a classical text that is the root of Chinese thought.

In the text, yang is expressed by one solid line, while yin is expressed by a dashed line. Their interplay forms a constant ebb and flow of movement and regeneration that expounds the enduring belief that change is the only constant.


The SHUMINGYU logo is one abstract line that contains both yin and yang, symbolizing the interplay between past and present and how we create new designs that are steeped in rich artistic lineages.
